Brandon Lee, hijo de Bruce Lee, murió durante el rodaje de esta peli cuando rodaba una secuencia de un tiroteo ya que una de las pistolas con la que le disparaban resultó estar cargada.
La película fue terminada con un doble, de ahí que se echen en falta planos cortos y primeros planos. No obstante la estética oscura y los ambientes nocturnos disimulan muy bien el asunto y Proyas pudo sacar adelante un proyecto personal que ya se había convertido en mítico incluso antes de haber sido estrenada por toda la controversia que generó la muerte de Lee.

Brandon Lee, the son of Bruce Lee, died when he was shooting for this film. The accident happened when a real gun were introduced in a gunfire secuence.
A double was used to replace Lee and finish the movie, thats why there are few shots of the principal's face. Proyas succeed to end "The Raven" because the movie has a dark style and everything happens at night. Thats the reason why Lee's death was well hidden.
Due to this, the movie were a kind of mythical story even before the premiere 'cause everyone knew about the fatal occurrence.
