Inspiración
Los carteles de cine en Cuba son puro diseño gráfico y una gran inspiración para mí porque con muy pocos medios, y obviando en su mayoría la fotografía, logran siempre unos resultados vistosísimos y muy impactantes.
Tienen además gran lucidez a la hora de resumir el concepto en una sola imagen sirviéndose de metáforas que dejan entrever la idea que hay detrás del argumento de la película.
El uso del color es siempre muy comedido y emplean cada tono, no como mero recurso decorativo, sino como una parte psicológica esencial en la composición: blanco = silencio, pureza. Rojo = violencia. Negro = misterio, perturbación....
Por último, la composición siempre está muy bien pensada creando ritmos, espacios vacíos y contrastes que ayudan a jerarquizar la información sin perder un ápice de fuerza visual porque no abruman al ojo gracias a la alternancia de tamaños y tonos.
Son el resultado del ingenio, la creatividad y le cultura visual. También son la prueba fehaciente de que es posible hacer mucho con muy poco.

Cinema posters in Cuba are true graphism and a huge inspiration to me because all of the are so beautiful and visual and the most important thing is that they don't resort to the photo or another easy way to create an impressive result.
They usually play with metaphors which help to resume the idea behind the film in a image, that's why I think they 're very smart and clever.
Colors are always an important part of the design because they are not just a decorative resource but a psichological element which enforce the message: white = silence, purity. Red = violence. Black = mystery, perturbance...
Finally I have to talk about the composition. The composition it's a way to create rythm and contrast in each poster using empty zones or diferent kind of sizes for elementes which organize hierarchy for the information. This is the reason there is neither chaos nor confusion and the eye keep the attention in the right place.
Cinema posters of Cuba are the result of witty minds who also has a huge visual culture and the evidence that it's possible to do very much with very little.
